Albuquerque, the largest city in the state of New Mexico in the US boasts of a rich tourist culture. Its main point of attraction is certainly the Albuquerque State Balloon Fiesta, which sees a marvelous demonstration of close to a thousand hot-air balloons each year. Another main place of tourist fascination in Albuquerque is the Albuquerque Biological State Park, which is visited by thousands of visitors each day. The Albuquerque Biological State Park houses such places as the Albuquerque Aquarium, the Rio Grande Botanic Park, the Rio Grande Zoo and the Tingley Beach. Each of them has a unique attraction of their own, and all are great tourist hotspots. The Old Town Albuquerque has a charm of its own. This is a historical town designed by the Spanish as far back as in 1706. This is a great favorite among tourists, because they can visit one of the oldest Spanish churches, the Saint Felipe de Neri Church in this town, and also they can visit other major tourist destinations such as the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, the National Atomic Museum and the Albuquerque Museum just to the east end of this town. The American International Rattlesnake Museum is also located within the city of Albuquerque, and so also is the University of New Mexico Arboretum. In addition, there are some old buildings of historical value that tourists cannot afford to miss. These are places like Occidental Life Building, Old Post Office, Federal Building and US Courthouse, First National Bank Building, Old Albuquerque High School and the Southwestern Brewing & Ice Co., all within this city. This certainly qualifies Albuquerque as a city of immense tourist interest. Being a tourist city, Albuquerque has a plethora of hotels and other kinds of accommodation for the incoming visitors. One can find hotels of all categories within the city, and also some of the best budget hotels. |
