The city of Colorado Springs is a part of the Colorado state, which is located in the Rocky Mountain region. The city is blessed with natural beauty and has a couple of landmark spots such as the Garden of Gods and Pikes Peak.
The Garden of Gods is a park which consists of unique rock formation made of sandstone, having tilted layers. Due to it unusual formation, its discoverer’s believed that the area is an ideal place for gods to assemble, and hence the park is called Garden of Gods. Other than the Garden of Gods, there is yet another place which is an important source of attraction of a large number of tourist and that is the Pikes Peak Mountain. This mountain is located in the western part of the city and exceeds 14,000 feet above sea level. Since the mountain is tall enough it can be easily seen from a long distance, and is certainly eye catching.
The city of Colorado Spring has numerous places such as the City hall, Public Library, its Fine Arts Center, along with some of its churches buildings and mansions that have gained recognition as a historical landmark. In fact there are 54 such places in Colorado Spring, which have been entered into the National Register of Historic Places. It is primarily due to such recognition that the city of Colorado Spring has been attracting large number of tourist since quite a long time all round the year and even during winter, as the weather is quite mild in this season. The flourishing tourism industry has in turn led the establishment of a numerous places for visitors to stay, eat and shop.
Apart from its historical sites, the city is also an important base for the US military and air force. Besides it is also gaining firm grounds in the field of information technology and manufacturing of electronic equipments
