The rooms were quiet and comfy and bathroom was clean and wonderfully appointed. We enjoyed the bed, and the lighting in the room was well-done, reading lights, room lights, and so on...made it feel more like home than most hotels I've been in. Just can't beat the location - surrounded by shopping, dining at all price points, and of course Grand Central. This was my husband's first visit to New York City, and this great hotel made it a good one! Price is a bit high, but we were no more than 15 minutes from everything major in the city, and that's worth extra. Meals in the adjacent pub were pricey, and breakfast choices were minimal. However, the bananas foster French toast is highly recommended. Get most of your meals elsewhere, but definitely plan for a nightcap in the pub - obviously a gathering spot for Irish locals, and fun to hang out and people watch. This is a must recommended hotel of the city.
