In NYC it's hard to find a nice hotel for a reasonable price, but the Hampton Inn proves that wrong! We arrived early but the bellman held our luggage until checkout time. At the front desk we were able to get restaurant suggestions and able to cash in travelers checks. In the lobby they served hot coffee, hot chocolate, tea, cookies, and fruit. When we returned we quickly got our room key and the bellman said he would bring our luggage up soon. So we went up to our room. Our hotel room had a velvet bead spread, granite bathroom counters, and a view of 8th Avenue. The rooms had a modern look to them, as did the rest of the hotel. That night we went to see "Wicked" at the Gershwin Theater and we were amazed at how close the hotel was. It was practically across the street. In the morning they have a free breakfast. It's mainly pastries, bagels, cereal, fruit, and yogurt but they also have one hot dish. The cleanliness of the hotel was great. The location was fairly good to most attractions. If you think of Hampton Inn's as being cheap hotels, well I think this one is a definite exception.
