Over all much better than a typical Hilton, it has a boutique feel to it. Hotel is 1/2 block from port authority bus terminal and close to times sq. subway lines. Neighborhood is ok during busy rush hours, but gets scarier later at night. Hotel staff is indifferent but friendly and usually accommodating. Security is fairly good even after dark you need to show a room key and use it in the elevator. Best rooms are on the 40th floor up facing the river; there is also a great breakfast buffet for $20. Room service can be a bit sloppy and very expensive, but don't order a pitcher of tea as it will come in a pitcher that reeks of coffee. Bar in the lobby on the 23rd floor gets fairly busy during happy hour and mostly crowd in 30's/40's, good bartenders and good drinks, albeit expensive. Rooms are fairly sized with decent amenities cable & hi-speed internet. Maids will bring you anything you need.
