We have just spent 6 days in New York. We checked into the Wingate Inn Suites and I have to say the rooms are very-very small. I could not get around the side of the bed due to the size of the room and for 2 adults to try and stand up in the same space was impossible. The decor is tired and we were told the hotel is undergoing a refurbishment starting with room service which was unavailable. The room was so small we enquired about an upgrade to a queen room, we were eventually moved to a King Room due to a number of problems including showings us to a new room twice and stating it was a smoking room on one occasion and then passing it off as non-smoking the next time. The bar was good and the staff helpful. The best feature of this hotel has to be the location, in between Queen botanical garden and Shea stadium. Take my advice and book a queen or a king size rooms before you go!
