Gran Teatre del Liceu – this theater is different from opera houses and was built through private funds. Various symphonic pieces, plays and operas were included in the program when this theater opened in 1847. Unfortunately, it was engulfed by fire in 1994 and through the effort of the government it was reopened in 1999. Important works of Mozart, Verdi, Rossini, Puccini, Wagner and Strauss have been sung by the greatest voices. Famous artists like Pavarotti, Domingo, Caballe, Tebalde and Callas had performed at the Liceu and young people have become fans of these artists. |
